Apartment 3 Coffee Coming to South Park

Queensberry Rules Boxing Studio is set to partner with coffee purveyor Apartment 3 for a food and beverage offering in their South Park Street location at CURVE.

For Queensberry Rules, this partnership is the icing on the cake for their downtown Halifax location. “In initial discussions with the landlord Southwest Properties, there was a long-term plan to incorporate a food and beverage concept into the space along the street front,” said Julie Houde, co-owner of Queensberry Rules Boxing Studio. “The timing made sense and the opportunity to work with established local owners was really exciting.”

“We really like the location, the development, and the opportunity to bring something unique to the area,” said Heather Stephen, co-owner of Apartment 3. “The chance to collaborate with a business-like Q Rules within the space in addition to working with them on special events really interested us – we’re looking forward to marrying our aesthetic into the Q Rules studio space and provide residents in the area with their caffeine fix.”

Known for their coffee expertise and in-house baked goods, Apartment 3 will also provide options for the health-conscious members of both the boxing studio and J.W. Lindsay YMCA. “We know what we’re good at with the café offering but given the health and wellness orientation of the area we’ll be bringing additional healthy food offerings,” said Stephen.

The new concept represents a welcome addition to Southwest’s South Park Street project, adding another food option to the current lineup. “We’re excited to see more options coming to South Park Street,” said Colin Beiswanger, Commercial Leasing Manager for Southwest Properties. “Apartment 3 has a great reputation for quality products and customer service, this paired with healthy options for our residents and the active surrounding community will complement the retail and restaurant mix really well.”

This will be a second location for café owners Heather and Alex Stephen who opened Apartment 3 Espresso Bar in Sackville in early 2018 after moving to Nova Scotia from Toronto. Apartment 3 has since become a destination in Sackville as one of the more well-known coffee shops in HRM and has been expanded to include Saints Ice Cream. With this new location Apartment 3 aims to establish a presence and gain a new following in the downtown core. Work is set to begin on renovations in October with an anticipated opening some time in December.

CURVE and PAVIILION at Southwest’s South Park development features other fantastic establishments including Tsujiri Matcha Café, The Highlander Spa and Lounge, Sushi Jet Asian Cuisine, CUA and Fawn restaurant set to open late 2022.
