Urbn-ish

Heather and Malcolm Suttie’s store – URBN-ish – is a new retail concept that includes women’s clothing, housewares, home décor, and baby items. The store has presence along both Lower Water Street and the piazza of Bishop’s Landing.

Originally from New Brunswick, Heather and Malcolm founded Room2Remember in Fredericton nearly 20 years ago. The store has become synonymous in the Fredericton area as a go-to for home décor and women’s clothing.

“We are extremely excited to open up at Bishop’s Landing,” said Malcolm Suttie. “The property paired with the waterfront location will provide exposure on so many levels and allow us to engage a new customer base.”

The partners newfound liberty as empty nesters in Fall 2020 had them moving to Halifax on a new life adventure. They fell in love with the city’s progress while marrying this with the familiar maritime appeal.

“Halifax has our hearts,” said Heather Suttie. “We considered making a move to Toronto or Vancouver, but thanks to COVID the Atlantic Bubble brought us to the city. We’re here to stay, so we needed a project to dive into.”

With retail running in their blood, they are bringing the very best products from their Fredericton store to URBN-ish. Having left their mark on retail in Fredericton this new project aims to do the same in downtown Halifax. “We have an incredible team in Fredericton that will continue to run the Room2Remember store,” added Heather Suttie. “We’ll lean on them to continue to excel, even through the pandemic, and assist from a distance with this new project.”

The store targets the downtown communities as the place to go for a kitchen gadget, baby shower gift, or a something special for yourself.

“We’re fortunate to have Heather and Malcolm with us as retail partners. Their passion is consistent with all our partners at Bishop’s Landing, they know their product and customer inside and out,” said Colin Beiswanger, Commercial Leasing Manager for Southwest Properties.
